How do I know if my A/C unit is large enough for my home?

Efficiency and performance are what you are looking for in your a/c unit. Bigger units are not always the best solution for the home. When purchasing a replacement air conditioning system, one of our trained technicians can help determine the correct size of the unit to achieve your optimal comfort level.

What temperature should I set my thermostat in the summer?

This all depends upon your personal preferences and outside temperatures. On average, our customers set their thermostats anywhere from 72 degrees to 80 degrees. The U.S. Department of Energy recommends a setting of 78 degrees, while you are in the home. For every degree that you set your thermostat, above 72, you will save, on average, 3% towards your energy bill.

What temperature should I set my thermostat in the winter?

Just like in the summer, this all depends on your personal preferences and outdoor temperatures. The norm, during the winter, is set between 65 degrees and 72 degrees, with most settling on 68 degrees as their most comfortable temperature during those cold winter months.

Should my thermostat be set to “auto” or “on”?

We recommend placing your thermostat on “auto”. When switch to “auto”, the fan only operates when the temperature requires it. This is the most effecicent setting of the two. There are some advantages of using the “on” setting, though. This would cause air to be constantly circulated from the unit to the inside of your home, resulting in an even temperature throughout your home.
